Trip to go to Manila, Philippine

August 3^rd, 2018

On this day, I planned to get up early to make sure that I will not be late to go to the airport. It is about 5 am in the morning I wake up, actually it is not so earlier that’s because in the night I’m still prepared all my stuffs that I’m going to bring. And make sure all the things comes to my baggage. I have prepared my self to going to abroad and join SEA-TEACHER program. Then, I went to the Airport with my family, which will be the first reason for me to get the Homesick, and the people I will miss the most.

For me, this is the first time I’m going to abroad. But, luckily I was placed in the same place with two of my friends. So that I don’t need to worry to much because we go to abroad together. Actually, students that join this program from State University of Makassar there are 7, and here we are

Two of my friends are comes from the same faculty with me, but we are from different major. So, to introduce the first is yola, she is from Physical Education International Class Program, next Ica is from Biology Education International Class Program, and me, I’m from Chemistry Education International Class Program.This is us.

Well, the day start here, today is our flight schedule. At 12 noon we were take off from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport to go to Kuala Lumpur International Airport and arrived at 3 pm, because of our next flight is in 9 pm so we need to waiting for about 6 hours at the airport. So we decided to wait in Mc Donald’s in the airport, while we having our lunch in there. Before we check-in, we having a dinner first by eat some foods that we brought from Makassar. That is “burasa” and chicken. After waiting along 4 hours we are going to check-in, but there is an incident that happened at the time, that is my friend’s cabin baggage exceeds the limit, so that we are looking for ways to overcome this incident. So, we decided to reduce some of stuffs that we brought, then finally the cabin baggage doesn’t exceed the limit anymore. But the next problem that we face is we are late, so that we surround the airport while running maybe it is about 1 kilometers after we arrived at the gate. Yaa, it seems like so tiring, but it is fun because we do it together, and become unforgettable moment for us. Then at 9 pm we are take off to Manila and arrived in Ninoy Aquino International Airport on August 4^th 2018 at 2 am. So while waiting for, we are just take a rest at the airport, and we decided to sleep alternately, to keep all our luggage. Around 8 am Prof. Syibil and Prof. Joseph fetch us at the airport.

     

On August 4^th 2018, after Prof. Syibil and Prof. Joseph fetched us at the Airport, then we directly went to have a breakfast first, then we are going to the Mall of Asia in Manila which is this is the biggest mall that I have ever visited, if we are going to this Mall alone, maybe we will get a lost in Confusion because this mall is really big. Mall of Asia is the biggest mall on the continent of Asia.

In here, Prof. Joseph and Prof. Syibil help us to bought a sim card that we are going to use along we stay in Manila. Well, after bought a sim card we are going to a national bookstore, which one of my friend wanted to buy a book. We also bought some postcard that will we bring back to Indonesia.

After traveling around the Mall then we are going to the dorm where we will stay for a whole month.After arriving at the dorm then take a rest for a minutes, than Prof. Syibil take us back from that dorm. So this dorm just become a temporary dormitory for us that’s because the dorm wasn’t ready yet when we already arrived at the dorm. Then we go to Far Eastern University and meet some of the lecturer, staffs and students there that is such a very friendly and humble person that I have ever meet, and also the vice president of academic affairs which also a very humble to us. After that, they take us to our new dorm where we will spent our time for a whole month along we stay in Manila.

At that dorm Dr. Stephen as the Program Head, Institute of Education in Far Eastern University had waiting for us there. After arriving at our new dorm that is in Madison 101 Hotel + Tower, and then they directly come back. Such a very nice experience to meet them all, and had warmth welcoming from them all. Talking about our dorm condition, as you can see in the picture. 

This was become the very comfortable dormitory for us. Actually the dorm where we stay right now are far from the Campus but it doesn’t matter because we can use the LRT to get the campus. And it will not take too much time to get there. August 5^th 2018 After having a long flight we decided to just take a rest on Sunday, after took a rest in a night, we just spent all our time at the Dorm because of the jet lag condition. On this day we just going to the minimarket that’s a Savemore market to bought some stuffs that we need such as rice, mineral water, some foods and also something such as plate, bowl and also spoon, which is the things that will we use along we stay in Manila, and then directly back to the dorm to take a rest.
